On television Julie Asriyan has appeared in NBC’s The Blacklist, CBS’s Blue Bloods and the hit Netflix series Russian Doll. Julie’s film work includes the new indie cult classic Terrifier directed by Damien Leone. Her indie drama short Amadi Comes Home has screened in many festivals across the US.

Amadi Comes Home (Actor/co-director/ producer/ editor) is a drama short that screened in festivals across the US. When two female childhood friends announce their adoption of an Ethiopian boy over a celebratory dinner, the evening takes a heated turn as guests debate raising a black boy by white women in present day America.

Home is an allegorical take on losing and finding one's home; a meditation on the plight of refugees and displaced persons. The micro short 1 minute film is inspired by Julie’s personal experience as a child refugee, stars her sister Kristina Asriyan and is scored by her mother Ivette Alexander Mirzoyan. Home was chosen as top 5 finalist in the Creative Armenia x Terry George Art Of Impact 60 second film challenge.

It is a time when the world is stagnant. Everyone is inside, looking out. A child finds inspiration in her insect friend, and learns to embrace joy and freedom, and then pass it on. Fly is a tiny ballet of a film that explores what it means to take flight even when you are bound.
Fly was shot during the 2020 Covid Pandemic lockdown in quarantine in New York.

BTS of GAME OVER, a horror short developed by an all-female cast and crew as part of Women’s Weekend Film Challenge created by Moonshot Initiative to encourage gender equity in film and television. Game Over screened as part of The Big Bloody Apple: Women in Horror month.
