Julie Asriyan came to the United States as a child refugee in the early 1990s, fleeing Soviet Azerbaijan with her family during the pogroms against ethnic Armenians. Born to two musicians and performing artists, creativity was woven into her very being—her path to the arts unfolding like a story already written.

From a young age, Julie developed a passion for stage and film. She pursued this interest academically, earning a degree in Psychology from Pace University, where she also immersed herself in philosophy, sociology, and screenwriting. This multidisciplinary study fueled her desire to unravel the tangled web of human motivation and the ever-elusive question of “why?”

Driven by a commitment to compelling, truthful storytelling, Julie honed her craft at the William Esper Studio, a renowned Meisner technique acting conservatory, where she studied under Terry Knickerbocker.

Today, Julie works as a stage and screen actor, while also writing, directing, editing, and producing original works—bringing her creative vision to life across multiple mediums.
